Eagle LNG Partners Hosts Two Open Houses for Proposed LNG Facility

Jacksonville, Florida (December 15, 2015) – Eagle LNG Partners is pleased to host two open houses to discuss plans for a proposed Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facility in the city of Jacksonville on the St. Johns River. The open houses will take place on January 14 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Highlands Middle School and on January 15 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Jacksonville Zoo’s Samburu Conference Room.

The proposed LNG facility will serve domestic and international markets. Eagle LNG will receive and chill natural gas into a liquid state, temporarily store the produced LNG, and periodically load LNG onto ocean‐going vessels for export to countries currently using heavy fuel oil or diesel for power generation, and for use in domestic marine fueling. The company is seeing increased demand for LNG to serve small scale export markets while domestic demand for LNG to displace diesel and other petroleum fuels continues to develop.

The project will occupy a 197 acre parcel that is zoned for industrial activity, in an area that currently hosts other bulk fuel terminals. The proposed facility will receive natural gas transported by a local utility through existing and expanded pipelines located adjacent to the Jacksonville project site. Eagle LNG Partners will procure electricity from Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA). Staff from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) will be in attendance at the open houses. FERC is the lead federal agency reviewing the Jacksonville project proposal.
